Kenya Mission Trip
Word Of Life Christian Camp
Kabete, Kenya
Where?
• Mission trip to Word Of Life Christian camp located in Kabete, Kenya (a suburb
of Nairobi city, capital of Kenya)
• Word of Life is focused on reaching young people around the world with the
gospel of Christ and teaching them how to walk with the Lord. This was the
vision of Founders, Jack Wyrtzen and Harry Bollback, and after more than 60
years of ministry, "it remains the passion of everything we do".
• Word of Life Local Church Ministries believes in and promotes absolutes for
young people. They believe this can be accomplished through six main elements
of ministry including Bible Study, Quiet Time, Scripture Memory, Christian
Service, Reading Christian Books and Getting Involved

• We have a responsibility to the global community
• To meet the physical and spiritual needs of the less fortunate
• To enrich your walk with the Lord
• You get a new respect for other cultures
What We Can Do
(based on fundraising goals)
• Available projects and costs:
– Re-roofing the girls dorm $ 7,200
– Re-roofing the boys dorm $5,500
– Re-Roofing the stone house $6,900
– PVC tiles for the new dorm floors $4,200
– Bio-Gas reactor $13,000
– Solar water heaters 20 @$3,000 = $60,000 (these can be installed as the
money is available)
– PVC tiles for the girls dorm $1,500
– PVC tiles for the boys dorm $1,500
– Renovating an old staff house $5,000
• Other projects
Assist with camps as a counselor, work in the kitchen and cleaning

Personal Costs?
• $2,300 per person includes air ticket, room
and board costs
• Additional costs may include:
– Passport
– Required shots
– Pocket money
– Shopping!
When?
• December 3 – 12, 2010 (proposed dates)
• Back in time for a “white” Christmas in
Iowa……
• And a visit from Santa !
Requirements
First and foremost, PRAY and seek God's direction regarding this mission trip.
Isaiah 30:21 says "whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the
way; walk in it.'"
• Raise your own $2,300 (room, board and travel costs)
• Be ready to share your faith and testimony
• Have all shots that are required to go
• Be at least 18 years old. A 16 and 17 year old can go if accompanied by a parent
• A team player
• Have a servant heart
• Be flexible and willing to do whatever needs done
• Have a desire to use the gifts God gave you to serve others
